Welcome to Mrs. Smith's Third Grade Class.
I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning with you who are third graders now!
In reading and writing we will be learning in workshops
where you will be working independently, cooperatively, and conferencing with the teacher. You will have opportunities
to write your journal entries on the computer. The class will also be completing book reports, and later in the
year, research reports.
In Science we will be investigating the properties of the
Earth and the Solar System. In Social Studies we will learn about the news and maps using Weekly Reader, world information using
National Geographic for Kids, and complete thematic units about Australia and Antarctica.
Together we will be learning many new things. I hope
everyone will have a wonderful year of learning in third grade!
